Los Muertos / Exhibit / 2007Los Muertos is an art series that explores questions of mortality and vitality. Artists portraits are created from their own art works. Composed out of the dying formats: Cassette tape, 8mm film, the printed page of a typewriter's struck letter.
Does what we call the soul only live in a person?
Can it live on through the works artists create?
As our bodies die, so too do the vessels that carry the artwork as they become obsolescent. What remains is the question. “If the body fails and the vessel fails but the art does not, are the dead truly dead, or do they live on?”
